La campaña global “The Big Data Takedown” tiene como objetivo mostrar el impacto que tiene en el medio ambiente mantener cuentas de redes sociales y correos electrónicos abandonados en lugar de eliminarlos.
El spot es un movimiento global que promociona eliminar los datos que no son útiles y que se encuentran almacenados en centros de datos alrededor del mundo. El consumo de energía de estos centros es enorme.
La campaña presenta la página www.bigdatatakedown.com que ayuda a rastrear a los usuarios sus cuentas en redes sociales y emails. La página muestra cuántos gigabytes representa toda la información del usuario y el equivalente en emisión de carbono. En esta misma página se puede eliminar las cuentas que no son utilizadas.
La campaña está inscrita en el Festival de Creatividad Cannes Lions 2016.
