La Orquídeas Expo Universal 2009 es un encuentro apoyado por el Ministerio de Turismo del Ecuador a través del Fondo de Promoción Turística «la estrategia es enfocarse en nichos de mercado específicos» en este caso en el mercado de las orquídeas, plantas que atraen a muchos «turistas que no les importa gastar el dinero por obtener una satisfacción personal que buscan muy ansiosos» dijo Pablo Ochoa, coordinador de mercado Ecuador del Fondo de Promoción Turística del Ministerio Turismo. Además, señaló que actividades como está se enmarcan bajo las estrategias del plan de marketing 2020 que tiene nuestro país.
