WPP es reconocida cómo Holding Company of the Year por sexta vez en la edición número 63 del Festival Cannes Lions. El segundo lugar se lo llevó Omnicom y el tercer puesto fue para Interpublic.
46 agencias de distintos países pertenecientes a WPP se destacaron en el festival de creatividad, la campaña más reconocida y galardonada fue Mc Whopper de Y&R Auckland para Burger King.
Martin Sorrell, fundador y CEO de WPP manifestó su agradecimiento hacia los clientes y trabajadores quienes ayudaron a conseguir dicho reconocimiento cómo empresa en el Festival de Cannes.
